Jackky Bhagnani is making a comeback to acting after a six-year break with the release of the song “Tere Rang Mein,” which is being described as an Independence Day anthem. Launched under his music label, Jjust Music, Bhagnani felt this song was a perfect way to re-enter the spotlight. He expressed that it holds personal significance for him.
The actor, who identifies strongly as a patriot, mentioned that the song’s theme was a major factor in his decision to step back in front of the camera. “I am a patriot at heart. It’s been a while since I acted, so I thought returning with a meaningful project would be the best choice,” he shared.
Before this return, Bhagnani had primarily focused on producing films. He explained that his decision to pause his acting career was intentional, as he wanted to dive deeper into the production side of cinema.
Reflecting on his time as a producer, Bhagnani realized it impacted how he wanted to approach his acting future. He stated that producing his own films afforded him more control over the projects he was involved with. “When I can produce my work, it feels more genuine to me,” he added.
Bhagnani also discussed his desire to gain greater recognition among younger audiences. He mentioned that, despite some successes, he felt he lacked the acknowledgment he desired as an actor. “I wanted to earn respect and credibility from Gen Z; I want them to know that my work reflects my vision,” he explained.
As he returns to acting, Bhagnani is selective about his roles and is looking for something unique and innovative. He is determined to find a project that excites him creatively and wants to avoid simply taking parts for visibility.
In addition, Bhagnani expressed his admiration for his wife, actress Rakul Preet Singh, who will be showcasing her talents in Nitesh Tiwari’s upcoming film “Ramayana: Part 1,” where she takes on the role of Surpanakha. He praised her and believes that this film will reveal another dimension of her abilities to Hindi-speaking audiences. “Rakul is my superstar. She has already made her mark in the South, and I think ‘Ramayana’ will shine a spotlight on her talent in Bollywood,” he said.
He acknowledged that the character of Surpanakha comes with its challenges but noted Rakul’s ability to portray her with sophistication. The film is set to feature other notable actors like Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, and Yash, and is scheduled for release on November 6, 2026.
