Director Ahmed Khan is set to team up once again with Akshay Kumar after their recent hit, Welcome to the Jungle. This collaboration marks another exciting chapter in their long-standing friendship, which has flourished over more than thirty years in the industry.
Khan shared that they are currently brainstorming multiple ideas before deciding on the next project. He expressed excitement about getting back to work with Akshay, noting, “The success of Welcome to the Jungle made it clear we had to collaborate again. I’m thrilled that the film has performed so well, and the cast is also very happy.” They are considering various genres for their next project, including action-comedy and romantic action drama. Khan mentioned that Akshay has even pitched a script, and they will finalize their plans soon.
This announcement comes amid swirling rumors about Khan’s next film. Some reports suggested he was working on a zombie comedy with Tiger Shroff and Shanaya Kapoor, while others hinted at a potential Welcome 4. Khan has quashed these speculations, stating, “When a movie does well, there are always rumors, but my next project is with Akshay. It’s a pleasure to collaborate with such a professional.”
While there’s speculation about who might produce the film—either Firoz A. Nadiadwala or Sajid Nadiadwala—Khan chose to keep those details private, saying, “Both are friends, and they have great affection for Akshay and me.”
In addition to this upcoming project, Ahmed Khan is also busy preparing for the release of his production, Baap, which features stars like Mithun Chakraborty, Sunny Deol, Sanjay Dutt, and Jackie Shroff. He noted that Zee Studios is finalizing the release date and distribution strategy for the film, adding, “I’ve completed the movie and handed it over to them. It’s in their hands now.” Fans can expect this action-packed entertainer to hit theaters later this year.
