Shocking Theft in Raveena Tandon’s Family: Caregiver Arrested
A surprising theft case has surfaced involving actress Raveena Tandon’s family. The Mumbai Police have arrested a 47-year-old caregiver named Rashi Chhabria, who is accused of stealing jewellery and luxury items valued at around ₹25 lakhs from the home of Tandon’s mother, Veena Tandon, and her brother, Rajiv Tandon.
Chhabria had been working as the primary caregiver for 86-year-old Veena Tandon since 2020. Over time, she gained the family’s trust, which allowed her access to various areas of their home, including some private spaces.
The alleged theft was discovered during the Dussehra festivities last year when family members realized that several valuable items were missing. The loss included gold and diamond jewellery, such as bangles and earrings, as well as expensive watches belonging to Rajiv Tandon. The total estimated loss was around ₹25 lakhs.
Upon learning of the missing items, Rajiv Tandon reported the incident to the Mumbai Police and began efforts to recover the stolen items. As the investigation unfolded, attention turned to Chhabria, but initial questioning did not yield any admissions of guilt from her.
However, as police gathered more evidence, they arrested Chhabria in connection with the theft. Reports indicate that investigators believe she may have managed to break into a locker in the household to access the valuables.
Mumbai Police have since managed to recover some of the stolen jewellery and luxury items. The investigation is ongoing, focusing on retrieving the remaining goods and checking if others were involved in this alleged crime.
This incident has garnered significant media attention due to the long-standing relationship between Chhabria and the Tandon family. Authorities are looking to gather more information about the full extent of the theft and locate the remaining stolen items.
