CM Vijay Highlights Commitment to the People in Maiden Speech
Chennai, Tamil Nadu – Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay made a strong statement during his first speech after being sworn in, asserting that he will be the one and only power center in his government. Emphasizing his humble beginnings, Vijay sought to connect with the people, stating he understands their struggles with poverty and hunger.
He declared, “There is just one center here, and that’s my leadership. There won’t be multiple power centers,” reinforcing his intent to lead his administration without internal rivalries.
Vijay shared his background, expressing pride in being from an ordinary family – the son of a film assistant director. He stated that he views himself as part of the people’s families, saying, “I am like you, a common man among you.”
Having recently taken office after his party, the Tamil Nadu Vetrikkai Katchi (TVK), achieved a significant victory in the April elections, Vijay is aware of the trust placed in him by the public. He acknowledged the difficulties he faced throughout his political journey and thanked the people for their unwavering support.
In a candid moment, he reminded everyone, “I am not an angel, but an ordinary man,” promising not to make false promises. He expressed confidence that, with the people’s support, he can tackle tough challenges ahead.
Vijay addressed the current financial state of the Tamil Nadu government, mentioning a staggering debt of over ₹10 lakh crore. He assured voters that his government would take responsibility under these challenging conditions and plans to present a White Paper for transparency.
He asked for time from the people to fulfill his commitments, stating, “This is your government, and I will strive to meet your expectations step by step.”
Vijay also highlighted his focus on women’s safety, pledging to take immediate action against drug abuse and ensure the protection of all citizens. “Even those who have troubled me are my people,” he added, highlighting his inclusive approach.
His primary goals include improving basic infrastructure like education, healthcare, and transportation, making it clear that he will not misuse public funds: “I will not touch even a single paisa of people’s money.”
Lastly, he assured that the TVK government will cater to diverse groups, including women, youth, farmers, and workers, promising comprehensive support for all.
