Salman Khan’s Film Maatrubhumi: Changes Amid Concerns

The anticipation around Salman Khan and Chitrangda Singh’s upcoming film, Maatrubhumi, continues to build. Originally titled Battle Of Galwan, the film was renamed earlier this year and focuses on the 2020 conflict between India and China. However, due to recent improvements in relations between the two countries, the Ministry of Defence has expressed some concerns regarding the film’s content. Reports indicate that the Ministry has requested the filmmakers to avoid mentioning China in the film.

A reliable source shared that the film, initially based on real events, underwent significant changes. Following the Ministry’s recommendations, Salman Khan and director Apoorva Lakhia decided to rework about 40% of the film, infusing it with fictional elements, including romantic scenes and backstories. The revised version was submitted in hopes of securing the necessary approval. Yet, the Ministry remains cautious.

According to the source, one of the specific requests from the Ministry was to completely omit any mention of China. The latest cut of Maatrubhumi, which was submitted earlier this month, complies with this directive. However, only the core team involved with the film knows how the neighboring country might be represented without using its name.

The release date is still uncertain, though earlier reports suggested Maatrubhumi could hit theaters on May 15. Given the current situation, that timeline appears questionable.

In the meantime, Salman Khan is set to begin filming for a project with producer Dil Raju, which also stars Nayanthara and is directed by Vamshi Paidipally. Additionally, he has a superhero film lined up with Raj-DK.

Fans are eager to see how these developments unfold and when Maatrubhumi will finally reach the big screen.
