Amit Rai’s Ohh My Dog Receives U/A Certification with Required Changes
The upcoming film Ohh My Dog, directed by Amit Rai, has received a U/A certification from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), although it comes with some conditions. The board has requested the filmmakers to make seven specific changes before the movie can be shown in theaters.
Key Changes Requested by CBFC
Some of the notable modifications include removing mentions of brands like ‘Truecaller’ and ‘Dettol,’ as well as deleting a swear word from the script. Additionally, a two-second scene featuring a dog has been cut, and a photo of Lord Hanuman has been blurred in another segment. The CBFC also instructed the team to add two disclaimers addressing themes of child labor and human trafficking that are present in the film.
Rai’s Positive Experience with Certification Process
Amit Rai expressed satisfaction with the certification process this time, stating that the requested changes were reasonable and manageable. “I am supremely happy. They have suggested cuts that are feasible,” he shared in an interview.
This experience was notably different from Rai’s previous film, OMG 2, which underwent a lengthy certification process and required nearly 85 modifications. That film ultimately received an A certificate, limiting its target audience.
Storyline Centered Around a Child and His Dog
Ohh My Dog marks a return to the director’s chair for Amit Rai, featuring a cast that includes Pankaj Tripathi, Pawan Malhotra, Maahi Rai, Rajesh Kumar, and Geeta Agarwal Sharma. The movie also showcases canine talents, with over 250 dogs participating, as it explores the bond between a young boy and his pet.
Staying true to Rai’s style, the film promises a mix of humor, emotion, and social commentary. Ohh My Dog is set to hit theaters on July 31.
