NBR Links ASYCUDA World with BGMEA’s e-UD System for Better Bond Management

DHAKA, Jan 11, 2026 (BSS) – The National Board of Revenue (NBR) has successfully connected the ASYCUDA World system with the e-UD (electronic Utilisation Declaration) system from the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA). This move aims to modernize bond management and speed up customs clearance.

This integration started today as part of NBR’s plan to streamline the bond management process, allowing for quicker duty assessments on imported raw materials and exported goods. The new system uses technology to enhance transparency and make the process more efficient, boosting the country’s competitiveness in the global market.

Previously, checking UDs was a manual task, relying heavily on the BGMEA system. This often resulted in delays, increased complexity, and issues with transparency. However, with the new connection, the verification of UDs will now be done entirely online and in real-time.

The new system is expected to cut down on paperwork, protect revenue more effectively, reduce risks, and make the customs processes faster. This shift is a significant step towards modernizing bond management.

After a successful pilot phase, the process for e-UD write-offs will be gradually introduced. This partnership between NBR and BGMEA represents a key development in creating a paperless customs environment, which is anticipated to significantly improve trade and modernize the country’s customs operations.
