Arcadia eFuels Partners with ATOBA Energy for Sustainable Aviation Fuel
Arcadia eFuels has taken a significant step in promoting greener aviation by signing a Memorandum of Understanding with ATOBA Energy. Under this agreement, ATOBA Energy will purchase up to 150,000 tonnes of sustainable aviation fuel, known as eSAF, from Arcadia’s projects over the next ten years.
Unlike traditional jet fuels made from fossil sources, eSAF is produced using renewable electricity, water, and captured CO₂. This innovative fuel is expected to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by more than 90% throughout its lifecycle. The amount of eSAF agreed upon could potentially eliminate over 400,000 tonnes of CO₂ from each project site.
Amy Hebert, CEO of Arcadia eFuels, emphasized their commitment to creating practical solutions for reducing aviation’s carbon footprint. She noted that ATOBA Energy acts as a crucial connector, helping airlines secure consistent supplies of sustainable fuel at competitive prices. This collaboration aims to pave the way for low-carbon air travel and support the aviation industry’s long-term climate initiatives.
Likewise, Arnaud Namer, CEO of ATOBA Energy, highlighted the importance of this partnership. He stated that adding Arcadia’s advanced eFuel project to their platform will provide airlines with credible and scalable eSAF options. This partnership not only supports Arcadia’s growth but also aligns with ATOBA’s goal of ensuring reliable supply sources for the transition to net-zero aviation.
Overall, this agreement reinforces the significance of long-term commitments from companies like ATOBA in scaling up the production of sustainable aviation fuel.
