SpaceX Breaks Records with Historic IPO

New Delhi: In an impressive move, Elon Musk’s SpaceX has officially become the seventh most valuable company globally, following a remarkable listing on the Nasdaq stock market on June 12, 2026. The company raised a staggering $75 billion in its initial public offering (IPO), setting a new record for the largest IPO ever, far exceeding the previous mark of $25.6 billion held by Saudi Aramco since 2019.

Starting its trading day at $150, SpaceX opened 11% higher than its IPO price of $135. Throughout the trading session, its stock price peaked at $176.52 before closing at $160.95, marking an impressive increase of approximately 19% from its offered price.

Who’s Leading the Pack?

With this new achievement, SpaceX enters a competitive list of the world’s most valuable companies.

  1. Nvidia: Leading the pack, Nvidia has broken the $5 trillion barrier for the first time, becoming the most valuable company. The tech giant specializes in semiconductor chips and artificial intelligence, serving big names like OpenAI, Google, and Microsoft.

  2. Alphabet: As Google’s parent company, Alphabet comes in second with a market capitalization of $4.63 trillion, focusing on generative AI and cloud services.

  3. Apple: Holding the third spot, Apple boasts a market cap ranging from $4.3 trillion to $4.53 trillion.

  4. Microsoft: With a market value of $2.9 to $3.11 trillion, Microsoft ranks fourth, aided by its significant stake in OpenAI and the popularity of Microsoft Copilot.

  5. Amazon: The retail giant is in fifth place, valued between $2.6 trillion and $2.87 trillion.

  6. TSMC: The Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company is sixth, with a valuation of $2.2 trillion, responsible for over 90% of advanced chips used by major companies like Apple and Nvidia.

  7. Broadcom: As Nvidia’s main competitor, Broadcom ranks eighth with a valuation of $1.8 trillion.

  8. Saudi Aramco: The state-owned oil company from Saudi Arabia stands ninth, valued at $1.76 trillion.

  9. Meta Platforms: Lastly, Meta, which oversees Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, occupies the tenth position with a valuation between $1.56 trillion and $1.60 trillion.

This milestone for SpaceX not only marks a significant moment for the company but also reshapes the landscape of the world’s most valuable companies.
