India’s First Dengue Vaccine Set to Launch by 2027
New Delhi: India is gearing up to introduce its first dengue vaccine, expected to be available in the private market by the first half of 2027. This vaccine, named QDENGA, is developed by Takeda Pharmaceuticals in collaboration with Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories, which will handle the promotion and distribution of the vaccine for both children and adults across private healthcare facilities in the country.
This development follows the approval of QDENGA by India’s Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation in July, allowing its use for individuals aged 4 to 60 years. A spokesperson remarked, “While our goal is to include this vaccine in the national immunization program, making it available in the private sector will enable eligible individuals to get vaccinated sooner.”
At this time, there is no information about the pricing of the vaccine.
