As dawn breaks around the world, eager crowds are forming outside Apple stores in anticipation of the latest iPhone release. Today marks the launch of the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, attracting fans hoping to be among the first to own the new devices. Alongside the new iPhones, Apple is also releasing its latest smartwatches and the much-anticipated AirPods 5.

In New York City, Apple’s new CEO, John Ternus, made a special appearance at the store on Fifth Avenue, a tradition often associated with his predecessor, Tim Cook. Ternus’s first major launch as CEO is generating a lot of excitement.

The new Pro models feature a significant upgrade with a 48-megapixel main camera featuring a variable aperture, allowing users better control over lighting and depth of field. They also come equipped with iOS 27, including new AI tools such as a revamped Siri.

However, the most anticipated model, the foldable iPhone Duo, is still a few weeks away, with pre-orders now open and a release date set for October 23.

Across the globe, here’s how the launch day is unfolding in various cities:

Hangzhou, China
In Hangzhou, despite some AI features being unavailable, long lines formed outside the Apple store, with eager shoppers ready to purchase their new devices.

Shenzhen, China
Shoppers in Shenzhen echoed this enthusiasm, lining up to get their hands on the iPhone 18 Pro as well.

Hong Kong
In Hong Kong, Apple set purchase limits to two iPhone 18 Pros and two Pro Maxes per customer. This limitation hasn’t deterred crowds from gathering.

Sydney, Australia
Fans in Australia showed the same excitement, queuing for the new iPhones early on Friday morning.

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Shoppers in Kuala Lumpur took note of the new colors offered for the iPhone 18 Pro, including stunning blue and burgundy finishes.

London, England
In London, the excitement was palpable as some customers were spotted leaving with multiple devices. Surprisingly, there appeared to be no strict purchasing limits in place.

Mumbai, India
In India, the energy was just as vibrant, with customers waiting overnight outside Apple stores for a chance to get their new iPhones.

Milan, Italy
However, Milan’s launch day was marked by both excitement and unrest, as retail workers protested their working conditions outside the flagship store amidst the launch festivities.

New York, New York
Back in New York, the Fifth Avenue store was buzzing with activity, filled with customers eager to grab the latest iPhones and perhaps snap a picture with Ternus.

As Apple fans worldwide embrace the new releases, the anticipation continues to build for the arrival of the foldable iPhone Duo in the coming weeks.
