Vaibhav Sooryavanshi Makes History in Cricket Debut

Manchester, UK, July 5: In a remarkable achievement, 15-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has etched his name in cricket history by becoming India’s youngest international player. He debuted during the second T20I match against England and expressed heartfelt appreciation for all the love and support he received from his fans.

Sooryavanshi is now the youngest player ever to represent India across all formats, surpassing the records held by cricket legends Sachin Tendulkar and Piyush Chawla. He made his debut at the age of 15 years and 99 days, a record-breaking age in T20I history for players from Test-playing nations.

In his first innings, Sooryavanshi faced just 10 balls and scored 14 runs, hitting two sixes. Despite a short appearance, his debut was highly anticipated. He took to social media after the match, thanking his supporters and pledging to always give his best for the country.

The match saw India bat first, allowing Sooryavanshi to step onto the field for his much-awaited debut. Other players like Abhishek Sharma and Shreyas Iyer also made significant contributions, with Sharma scoring 43 off 24 balls and Iyer notching up 37 off 22. However, India faced a collapse, going from 130/2 to 165/6. A late surge from Tilak Varma, who scored 24 runs from 11 balls, helped the team finish at 190/7.

England’s Sam Curran was outstanding with the ball, taking three wickets for 33 runs. In response, England had a shaky start, losing both openers, Phil Salt and Jos Buttler, without any runs. However, captain Harry Brook stepped up, scoring 39 off just 15 balls and forming key partnerships to stabilize the innings.

Jacob Bethell also made a valuable contribution, scoring 76 not out in 46 balls, helping England chase down the target in 19 overs. With this victory, England now leads the five-match series 1-0, after the first T20I was washed out.

As the series continues, all eyes will be on the young talent, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, as he aims to make his mark on international cricket.
