Alia Bhatt is recognized as one of the most talented actresses in Indian cinema. Her upcoming project is the much-anticipated film Love and War, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. However, it has recently come to light that Alia has quietly begun filming for another exciting project.
Sources reveal that Alia is set to play a significant role for 15 days in Tumbbad 2, a sequel led by Sohum Shah. This shooting is currently underway.
According to insiders, “Alia’s role in Tumbbad 2 is vital to the film’s story. Furthermore, her character will continue into the third part of the series, which will wrap up the Tumbbad trilogy. In Tumbbad 3, Alia will play a central part alongside Sohum Shah.”
Alia is expected to finish her work on Tumbbad 2 by the end of May before she returns to complete Love and War. The production for Love and War will restart in June, aiming to conclude by August 2026. This film is scheduled for release on Republic Day in 2027.
While Tumbbad 3 is set to begin filming soon after Tumbbad 2 hits theaters, Alia’s involvement has certainly heightened excitement around the trilogy.
