Sanjana Sanghi has made a name for herself in both theatrical and streaming films, but until now, she has not starred in a web series. That’s about to change as she gears up for her debut in long-format content.

In a recent interview, Sanjana expressed her excitement about entering the streaming world. “I am really excited about finally being able to venture into the streaming space with a show. I haven’t done a long-format series before. There have been many offers over the years, but I’ve been selective since a series is a big commitment, with a character that could last across seasons,” she shared.

When asked for more details about the upcoming show, the actress, known for her role in Dil Bechara, mentioned, “It hasn’t started filming yet. We’ve had a few ups and downs during the preparation, but I’m hopeful we will begin in the second half of this year because I’m eager to get started.”

Sanjana also revealed that she has a desire to try out comedy, stating, “What I really want to do now is a comedy. Filmmakers I’ve worked with often say I have good comic timing that I haven’t shown much yet. I think it would be really fun to do a full-on comedy.”

She emphasized her criteria for choosing roles, saying she seeks characters that are well-rounded, complex, and realistic. “I’m looking for characters who have both strengths and weaknesses, who are not perfect but truly fleshed out. As women, we have many sides to us; we aren’t one-dimensional,” she explained.

Sanjana has other projects in the pipeline as well. She’s looking forward to a sequel to Dhak Dhak, hoping it will start filming soon. Additionally, she has been exploring international opportunities beyond Hindi projects, stating, “Thanks to platforms like Netflix and Amazon, the world feels smaller. I am getting a lot of queries and auditions for diverse roles, which I’m actively considering.”

Recently, she attended the Women in Power Conference at Harvard Kennedy School, where she received attention for her work, a surprise that delighted her.

With exciting projects on the horizon, Sanjana Sanghi is definitely a talent to watch!
