Dave Coulier Shares Update on Cancer Recovery
Dave Coulier, known for his role on “Full House,” recently provided an honest update about his ongoing recovery from cancer, alongside some positive news for his fans.
In a heartfelt video shared on Instagram, Coulier talked about his health journey months after disclosing his non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma diagnosis. He acknowledged to viewers that many have noticed changes in his appearance and voice.
The actor explained that these changes stem from the extensive radiation treatment he has received for throat carcinoma, in addition to managing lymphoma. He revealed that the treatments have been physically challenging, as he has not been able to eat solid food for months and has lost 45 pounds. The radiation therapy has also affected his ability to speak clearly.
Despite these struggles, Coulier shared some hopeful news. Recent scans indicated a positive outlook for both his throat carcinoma and lymphoma. He mentioned that, while away from the public eye, he has kept himself creatively busy by making art and writing.
Fans and friends flooded the comments section with support after his update. Kelly Rizzo, widow of his late “Full House” co-star Bob Saget, expressed her love and admiration, saying, “You are so very loved, Dave. God bless you, wonderful friend.” Andrea Barber, who played Kimmy Gibbler on the show, also reached out with her encouragement.
Earlier this year, during an interview on “Good Morning America,” Coulier shared that his journey has been like a roller coaster but confirmed that he is now in remission for both cancers. He emphasized the importance of early detection and urged others to stay proactive about their health and regular check-ups.
“I never wanted to be a poster boy for cancer, but I hope to motivate others to get those exams and talk to their doctors,” he stated. “Even though I’m in remission, I feel like cancer is always in the rear-view mirror.”
Coulier’s journey continues to inspire many as he remains a beacon of hope and resilience.
