Netflix India recently released the trailer for its upcoming crime drama, Kartavya, featuring Saif Ali Khan in the lead role. The film, produced by Red Chillies Entertainment and directed by Pulkit, is set to debut on May 15.

The trailer reveals a gripping and complex storyline centered around issues of justice, authority, and personal responsibility. Saif Ali Khan portrays Pawan, a police officer who faces immense pressure after failing to protect a journalist who is shot on his watch. As scrutiny from superiors intensifies and investigations unfold, Pawan finds himself embroiled in a perilous quest that uncovers layers of corruption and betrayal.

At the same time, his family life is threatened due to a conflict involving his brother. Torn between his duties and family loyalty, Pawan is forced to make tough choices where each decision has significant consequences. The film also stars Rasika Dugal, Sanjay Mishra, Zakir Hussain, Manish Chaudhari, and Saurabh Dwivedi in key roles.

Reflecting on his character, Saif Ali Khan commented, “Pawan is someone who constantly grapples with his beliefs, expectations, and what he must protect. What attracted me to Kartavya is its refusal to provide easy answers. It challenges viewers to think about what they would do when every choice comes with a personal cost. Collaborating with Pulkit and Red Chillies for this layered project has been exciting, and I look forward to sharing this story with audiences worldwide on Netflix.”

Director Pulkit added his insights about the film, saying, “Kartavya explores the gray areas of human conflict, where every decision has its price. We aimed to create a grounded, emotional narrative that delves into the complexities behind crime. Saif has delivered a remarkable performance in this complex role. Our partnership with Red Chillies and Netflix has been rewarding, and we can’t wait for viewers to experience this story.”

With its intense themes and complex character dynamics, Kartavya promises to delve into the challenging intersections of duty and ethics when it premieres on Netflix on May 15.
