Big Trade in IPL: Rishabh Pant Returns to Delhi Capitals, Kuldeep Yadav Joins Lucknow Super Giants
In a major player swap in the Indian Premier League (IPL), former Lucknow Super Giants captain Rishabh Pant is making his way back to the Delhi Capitals (DC), while spinner Kuldeep Yadav is heading to Lucknow.
Rishabh Pant is no stranger to Delhi Capitals, having spent nine seasons with the team from 2016 to 2024. During his time at DC, he played in 111 matches, which is the most appearances by any player for the franchise. Pant, a key figure for the team, also captained them in 43 games over four seasons between 2021 and 2024. In the recent TATA IPL 2025 Player Auction, he was picked up by Lucknow Super Giants for a record amount of INR 27 crore. Following the latest trade, Pant will rejoin Delhi Capitals for a revised fee of INR 15 crore.
On the flip side, Kuldeep Yadav leaves Delhi after an impactful five-year period. He joined DC in 2022 and made a mark by taking 72 wickets in 65 matches, proving to be one of the top wicket-takers in the league. As he moves to Lucknow Super Giants, he will continue with his existing fee of INR 13.50 crore.
