Emraan Hashmi is back in the horror genre with his upcoming film, Rooh, which promises to be a unique blend of musical and horror elements. Set for a theatrical release in 2027, Rooh will be available in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.

Directed by Mayank Sharma, known for his work on the acclaimed Breathe series, the film looks to deliver a fresh take on horror. Sharma is recognized for his ability to weave psychological depth with strong characters, making Rooh a film designed for an engaging cinematic experience.

Emraan Hashmi steps into a story that resonates with his previous work, which fans have always appreciated. The screenplay is crafted by Mayank Sharma and Vishal Kapoor, who have previously worked on films like Lapachhapi and Chhorii. The production is handled by Vikram Khakhar and Sunny Khanna, under Vicked Films Productions.

Talking about the film, Hashmi said, “I felt an instant connection with Rooh as it combines modern horror, deep emotion, and music in a powerful way. The world Mayank is building is intense and cinematic, and I’m excited for audiences to experience it on the big screen.”

Director Mayank Sharma expressed his love for the horror genre, stating, “With Rooh, I aim to create a film that goes beyond mere fear. It offers emotional layers and an unsettling atmosphere, all crafted with a contemporary approach. Working with Emraan on this deep character has been thrilling, and we hope to provide a unique and memorable horror experience.”

Rooh aims to create an immersive journey that transcends typical horror film conventions. The music, a vital element of the film, will feature an engaging soundtrack, sure to evoke emotions consistent with Hashmi’s prior projects.

Insiders suggest that Rooh is being designed with global aspirations, bolstered by international collaborations intended to enhance its visual storytelling and overall appeal.

With its combination of fear, emotion, and music, Rooh is shaping up to be a standout film in the horror landscape that Indian audiences and beyond will not want to miss.
