Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri is back with another thought-provoking film titled The Bengal Files. Following the success of his previous works, The Tashkent Files and The Kashmir Files, this new addition aims to dive into another significant and often overlooked chapter of India’s history.
In a wave of excitement, the film’s team has announced ten grand premieres across the United States, kicking off in New Jersey on July 19 and wrapping up in Houston on August 10. Key cities such as Chicago, Atlanta, Washington DC, Raleigh, Tampa, Phoenix, Los Angeles, and the San Francisco Bay Area will also host special screenings.
The interest in The Bengal Files continues to grow internationally, prompting Agnihotri to receive requests for additional screenings abroad, which underscores the film’s expanding appeal outside India.
The recently released teaser has captured significant attention, showcasing powerful imagery that resonates with audiences and critics alike. It features a striking scene involving Mahakali engulfed in flames, which has sparked some debate. However, the filmmakers assure that the movie is deeply rooted in solid research. A particularly impactful line from the teaser states, “If Kashmir hurt you, then Bengal will haunt you,” leaving viewers eager for more.
The Bengal Files is produced by Abhishek Agarwal and Pallavi Joshi and features notable actors such as Mithun Chakraborty, Pallavi Joshi, Anupam Kher, and Darshan Kumar. The film is part of Agnihotri’s Files trilogy, which includes The Kashmir Files and The Tashkent Files. It is set to hit theaters on September 5, 2025.
