The action movie Jaat was released on April 10 and quickly became a hit at the box office. Just one week later, on April 17, the filmmakers announced a follow-up titled Jaat 2. Like the first film, Sunny Deol will reprise his leading role, and Gopichand Malineni will return as the director. Shortly after this exciting news, Gopichand shared some insights about the sequel.

In an interview, Gopichand mentioned that while the script for Jaat 2 isn’t finished yet, fans can expect even more action and emotional moments compared to the first film. He hinted that this time, the story will also explore the family aspect of Sunny Deol’s character.

Some viewers felt that Jaat lacked a leading lady opposite Sunny Deol, and although the movie revealed certain details about his character’s background, it did not delve into his family life or hometown. Gopichand assured fans that the sequel will address these elements, promising to add depth to the story and keep audiences engaged.

However, Jaat 2 will take some time to develop as Gopichand is currently busy working on an action-packed Telugu film starring Nandamuri Balakrishna. He mentioned he has collaborated with Balakrishna before on the successful film Veera Simha Reddy earlier this year. Gopichand’s new project will begin filming on June 10, which happens to be Balakrishna’s birthday.

When asked if Jaat 2 will start filming only next year, Gopichand confirmed that it would likely be in 2026.

Regarding Jaat, Gopichand also talked about the censor cuts. Some violent scenes in the film were blurred, and he explained that the Central Board of Film Certification suggested dialogue cuts due to the amount of violence. They offered the option of retaining the violent scenes if the film was rated ‘A.’ To ensure it appealed to a family audience, the team opted for the recommended cuts to receive a U/A certificate.

As excitement builds for Jaat 2, fans can look forward to a film packed with action, stronger emotional elements, and a deeper look into Sunny Deol’s character and his family life.
