Actor Ahan Shetty is gearing up to step into the horror genre for the very first time. Reports suggest that he has signed on for Vikram Bhatt’s film 1920: Cold Winter, which is the sixth entry in the popular 1920 franchise.
According to a report from Mid-Day, the film is still in the scripting phase. A source mentioned that Ahan is eager to expand his acting portfolio after making his debut in Tadap and recently appearing in Border 2. “This will be Ahan’s first experience with a supernatural theme. He aims to take on diverse roles since his introduction in the romantic action drama Tadap,” the source stated.
The report also notes that Vikram Bhatt and producer Anand Pandit are on the lookout for a well-known actress to cast opposite Ahan, rather than choosing a newcomer.
If all goes well, shooting is set to begin in November. Before that, the team will reportedly head to Scotland to scout locations, with some scenes expected to be filmed in Shimla as well.
The 1920 franchise kicked off in 2008 with the original film and has since released sequels like 1920: Evil Returns, 1920: London, 1921, and 1920: Horrors of the Heart. 1920: Cold Winter will add a new chapter to this supernatural horror series.
As of now, neither Ahan Shetty nor the production team has confirmed or denied these reports.
In the meantime, Ahan is also set to appear in the film Sanki, directed by Tinu Desai.
