Texas Ranks Low in Children’s Health Care Quality

HOUSTON – A recent survey raises concerns about children’s health care in Texas.

Researchers from WalletHub analyzed health care services for kids across all 50 states, focusing on factors like the percentage of children in excellent or very good health, and the availability of pediatricians and family doctors.

The findings revealed that Texas ranks as the second worst state for children’s health care. The study highlighted a significant shortage of pediatricians and family doctors in the state, alongside low dental and overall health rates. Additionally, Texas struggles with a high number of children being affected by obesity and faces issues with unaffordable medical bills.

Chip Lupo, an analyst at WalletHub, emphasized that the quality of children’s health care is crucial for parents when choosing where to raise their families. He noted that access to quality medical care, nutritious food, and safe places to play can greatly impact children’s health and help them develop healthy habits for life.

In this report, Mississippi was found to have the worst children’s health care, while Massachusetts topped the list as the best state for children’s health services.

For a detailed breakdown of the survey results and comparisons with other states, the full report can provide more insights.
