Bollywood star Akshay Kumar has made headlines by selling two apartments in Oberoi Sky City, Borivali, Mumbai, for a combined total of ₹6.6 crore. These transactions were recorded in March 2025, showing a remarkable increase in property value, as noted in documents from the Inspector General of Registration in Maharashtra.

Situated in the bustling suburb of Borivali, Oberoi Sky City is a luxury residential complex constructed by Oberoi Realty. Spanning 25 acres, this project features upscale apartments, encompassing several configurations such as 3BHK, 3BHK+Studio, and Duplex options.

According to the property registration records, Kumar sold one of his apartments for ₹5.35 crore. He had purchased this unit in November 2017 for ₹2.82 crore, which translates to an impressive appreciation of approximately 89%. The apartment, covering a carpet area of 100.34 square meters (1,080 square feet), incurred a stamp duty of ₹32.1 lakh and a registration fee of ₹30,000. The second apartment, which is connected to the first, was sold for ₹1.25 crore. This unit was bought in 2017 for ₹67.19 lakh, reflecting an 86% increase in value. It has a carpet area of 23.45 square meters (252 square feet), with a stamp duty of ₹7.5 lakh and the same registration fee of ₹30,000.

The real estate market activity in Oberoi Sky City has been bustling in the past year. Reports indicate that between March 2024 and February 2025, the project saw 208 sales, with a total transaction value reaching ₹818 crore. Currently, the average resale price in this development stands at ₹44,577 per square foot. Notably, Bollywood icons Amitabh Bachchan and his son, Abhishek Bachchan, also purchased multiple properties in this luxury project in May 2024, further highlighting its status as a prime housing destination.

Akshay Kumar’s recent property sales underscore the ongoing appeal of luxury real estate among Bollywood celebrities in Mumbai. With property values skyrocketing in sought-after locations like Borivali, the real estate market continues to offer lucrative opportunities for the elite in the film industry.
