The Arena Group Holdings, Inc. has recently announced a significant leadership change, with Paul Edmondson stepping into the role of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) effective immediately. Edmondson had been serving as the interim CEO since February 12, 2025, after holding the positions of Chief Operating Officer (COO) and President of Platform.

Cavitt Randall, the Chairman of the Board, shared the Board’s confidence in Edmondson, stating, “As the company undergoes a rapid transformation, we believe that Paul’s experience and innovative approach align perfectly with our growth strategy at The Arena Group. His achievements at the company, especially the swift changes at Athlon Sports, highlight his capability to lead us forward.”

In response to his appointment, Edmondson expressed his gratitude, saying, “I am excited to take on the role of CEO at The Arena Group. Our focus will be on driving innovation and creativity to enhance our brands. We aim to empower our team and our publishing partners to connect with and expand our digital audience. We will build on the momentum we generated with Athlon Sports and apply that same commitment across the entire company to ensure long-term success.”

Edmondson joined The Arena Group in 2018 when it acquired HubPages, the business he founded and led. He was appointed COO in August 2018 and later became the company’s President in October 2019. In his role, he has handled the core content management system, programmatic advertising, and technology for digital publishing.

In 2024, alongside his responsibilities as President of Platform, Edmondson took on the role of General Manager for The Arena Group’s sports media division, including Athlon Sports. Under his leadership, Athlon Sports saw remarkable growth, emerging as one of the most popular sports websites in the United States.

Before his journey with HubPages, Edmondson gained experience working at Microsoft in their MSN Entertainment division and developing applications for Hewlett-Packard.
