KABUL: Afghanistan’s Public Health Minister, Mawlawi Noor Jalal Jalali, recently met with Yatin Patel, the acting Indian ambassador in Kabul, to discuss ways to enhance health services and foster closer cooperation between Afghanistan and India.
During their meeting, Jalali expressed gratitude for India’s ongoing support in the health sector. He emphasized the need for continued assistance for the Indira Gandhi Children’s Hospital and urged India to help provide essential equipment for the cancer hospital. Additionally, he highlighted the importance of training healthcare workers and activating the thalassemia department within the Indira Gandhi Hospital.
Yatin Patel reaffirmed India’s commitment to supporting Afghanistan’s health services. He promised that India would continue its assistance to the Indira Gandhi Hospital, including enhancing the thalassemia department and supplying chemotherapy medicines along with radiotherapy equipment.
Patel also emphasized India’s dedication to developing the skills of healthcare workers and stated that India aims to offer improved health services to the Afghan people.
