After much anticipation, new updates indicate that Maddock Films is considering a release window for the film Diler, starring Ibrahim Ali Khan. Although the official date has not yet been announced, reports suggest the movie may hit theaters around Diwali weekend in November 2026, aiming to sidestep direct competition during the festival.
A source close to the project shared that the film’s release schedule is still under wraps, but an announcement could come around November 6 or shortly thereafter. This timing is strategic, as Diwali is typically a bustling period for Bollywood releases, with many big films competing for viewers. By releasing Diler during this festive time rather than on the actual day of the celebration, the filmmakers hope to attract larger audiences while steering clear of head-to-head competition with larger titles.
This film is particularly meaningful for Ibrahim Ali Khan, as it marks his first theatrical release. His earlier projects, Nadaaniyan and Sarzameen, debuted directly on streaming services, which limited their impact. With Diler set for cinema release, Maddock Films seems confident in the film’s potential and Ibrahim’s appeal at the box office.
Directed by Kunal Deshmukh, Diler was completed as early as January of this year. The film was shot in various locations, including London, Mumbai, and Chandigarh, and features Ibrahim as a marathon runner. Though the project has been ready for some time, the creators wanted to choose the ideal moment for its debut.
The film also holds significance for actress Sreeleela, who is set to make her Hindi cinema debut with this project. Sreeleela has gained popularity in South Indian films in recent years and is expected to follow Diler with another Hindi film alongside Kartik Aaryan.
As it stands, Maddock Films has yet to provide an official release date, leaving fans eager for a formal announcement in the near future.
