MS Dhoni Tops Income Tax Payers in Bihar-Jharkhand Region

Former Indian cricket captain MS Dhoni has once again claimed the title of the highest individual income tax payer in the Bihar-Jharkhand area for the financial year 2025-26. This achievement underscores Dhoni’s lasting commercial success even years after he retired from international cricket.

The announcement came from Dr. D. Sudhakar Rao, the Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax for Bihar and Jharkhand, in Ranchi. He confirmed that Dhoni secured the top spot among individual taxpayers in the region. While the specific amount he paid hasn’t been revealed, it’s clear that Dhoni continues to lead in this category.

This recognition further strengthens Dhoni’s deep connection with Ranchi and Jharkhand, where he is still celebrated as a major sports figure.

In addition to Dhoni’s achievement, Dr. Rao also shared details about the region’s overall tax revenue. Jharkhand contributed roughly Rs 12,000 crore while Bihar brought in about Rs 8,000 crore. With a combined revenue target of Rs 20,000 crore, Jharkhand stood out, attributed mainly to its strong industrial and commercial infrastructure.

Dhoni’s Ongoing Cricket Journey

While Dhoni may have left international cricket, his future in the Indian Premier League (IPL) continues to be a hot topic among fans. The legendary player is still part of the Chennai Super Kings setup, but his return this season has been complicated by injury concerns.

There’s much speculation around Dhoni’s fitness and whether he will rejoin the playing XI as CSK navigates through a crucial phase of the tournament. Inside the franchise, discussions suggest that Dhoni is getting closer to a comeback. Nevertheless, some believe he might be hesitant to alter the current team dynamics, especially if Chennai is gaining momentum in their playoff race.

Even with fewer appearances on the field, Dhoni’s impact within the franchise is significant. His leadership and commanding presence continue to capture the attention of fans and players alike.

Though the future of his cricket career remains somewhat uncertain, one thing is clear: Dhoni remains one of India’s most recognized and commercially successful sports personalities. Whether through cricket, endorsements, or business ventures, the former captain definitely continues to make a lasting impression beyond the cricket field.
