India Prepares for Clash with Pakistan in Asia Cup 2025
India is set to face off against Pakistan in their first Super 4 match of the Asia Cup 2025 on Sunday, September 21, at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. The Indian team, known as the Men in Blue, arrives at this matchup with three consecutive victories in the group stage, having defeated teams from UAE, Pakistan, and Oman.
As they gear up to take on their arch-rivals again, India aims to put together their strongest lineup for another victory. Captain Suryakumar Yadav made some adjustments to the playing XI for the match against Oman, resting key players Varun Chakravarthy and Jasprit Bumrah.
In their absence, Harshit Rana and Arshdeep Singh were brought in. Both bowlers managed to take a wicket but were somewhat costly, with Arshdeep achieving a milestone as the first Indian bowler to reach 100 wickets in T20 internationals. Despite his achievement, he struggled a bit, conceding 37 runs in four overs. Questions surrounded his previous omission in the match against Pakistan since he has shown great promise since his debut in T20s.
For this next crucial game, it seems India will bring back Chakravarthy and Bumrah to strengthen their bowling lineup. Their batting order appears secure, with all players having gained valuable experience in the match against Oman. The bowling attack looks strong as well, featuring a potent spin trio of Kuldeep Yadav, Chakravarthy, and Axar Patel, complemented by the unmatched pace of Jasprit Bumrah.
India’s Expected XI:
Abhishek Sharma, Shubman Gill, Suryakumar Yadav (c), Tilak Varma, Sanju Samson (wk), Shivam Dube, Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, Varun Chakravarthy.
As this exciting matchup approaches, fans are eager to see if India can once again secure a win against Pakistan.
