The Indian Softball Cricket League (ISCL) recently launched its jerseys for the upcoming second season on Saturday, gearing up for an exciting tournament that will take place in Bengaluru. This season promises 127 matches from November 25 to December 30, with a goal to broaden the appeal of softball cricket in India and provide more opportunities for players.
Former Indian cricketer Suresh Raina joined the celebration, and the league’s brand ambassador, former spinner Harbhajan Singh, was also part of the initiative. The event attracted various personalities, including actors Karishma Sharma and Shefali Bagga.
The second season will stretch over a month, featuring numerous matches aimed at uniting players, teams, sponsors, and fans within a structured competition. ISCL hopes to create a robust platform for softball cricket across the country.
Gangadhar Raju, the founder and president of the Softball Cricket Foundation, highlighted the significance of this launch as a crucial step in their journey to build a strong community for softball cricket in India. He expressed optimism about the season, emphasizing their commitment to organizing professional events and increasing audience engagement.
Suresh Raina shared his thoughts on the role of sports in uniting people and inspiring young talent. He expressed hope that the second season would boost participation and provide players with an opportunity to shine on the field.
“Sports have the ability to bring people together and inspire dreams,” Raina noted. “It’s great to see initiatives like the ISCL that aim to enhance the sports scene in India. I wish the league and all teams the best for the upcoming season.”
The leadership team for the league includes Gangadhar Raju, ISCL Board chairman B H Anil Kumar, and vice-chairman Sanjeev Singh. Team owners from Delhi, Punjab, Chandigarh, and Uttar Pradesh were also highlighted during the launch event.
As ISCL steps into its second season, the tournament, with its 127 matches, aims to raise awareness and engagement for softball cricket, paving the way for a brighter future for the sport in India.
