Ajay Devgn has had a successful year with his hit movie, Drishyam The Conclusion, which launched over the holiday weekend of October 2. Now, the popular actor is preparing for another film, Chauhaan, set to release during the same time next year. Recently, he started filming this war drama in Kargil, a picturesque city in Ladakh.
A local source reported that Ajay arrived in Kargil just a few days ago and began shooting right away. Important scenes for the film are being filmed in this scenic town, and the team had taken all necessary steps to make sure everything runs smoothly during the shoot. The chilly weather in Kargil is expected to add realism to the film, enhancing its dramatic effect.
This isn’t Ajay’s first time working in Ladakh, as he previously shot key scenes for the war movie LOC: Kargil back in 2003. At that time, Ladakh was part of Jammu & Kashmir, but it became its own Union Territory in 2019, with Kargil and Leh as its administrative hubs.
Chauhaan is directed by Neeraj Yadav and is produced by a team including Jyoti Deshpande, Aanand L Rai, and Himanshu Sharma, with support from Jio Studios and Colour Yellow Productions. The film was officially announced on June 25, 2026, coinciding with what would have been the birthday of Ajay’s father, the late action director Veeru Devgan. Fans can look forward to its release in theaters on October 1, 2027.
In the announcement video for Chauhaan, the song “Jumma Chumma De De” played, concluding with the memorable line, “Pathaanon se kehna, Chauhaan aa raha hai.” This film will mark Ajay Devgn’s first project with renowned filmmaker Aanand L Rai, showcasing a new collaboration for audiences to enjoy.
