Since the arrival of the Nintendo Switch 2 last year, we have seen a wide variety of third-party games make their way to this popular handheld console. Now, Aspyr, a studio known for its game ports, has just announced that the beloved Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor and its sequel, Shadow of War, will be available on the Switch 2 starting next week.
This exciting news comes with a newly released trailer for the Middle-earth: Shadow Bundle, revealing that both games will launch on September 30th. Originally launched in 2014 and 2017, respectively, these games are celebrated for their engaging gameplay set in J.R.R. Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings universe. Players can explore vast environments, enjoy thrilling combat, and traverse the game world using the innovative Nemesis System.
While Shadow of War faced some criticism at release due to its microtransactions, updates have since removed these features, making it more in line with the experience offered by Shadow of Mordor.
At this point, many technical details about the ports remain under wraps. The recently released trailer showcases the games at 1080p and 60 frames per second. However, it seems that the gameplay itself may be limited to 30 frames per second.
Aspyr has a reputation for porting older games to Nintendo systems, but their recent efforts have experienced some hiccups. For example, the Tomb Raider Definitive Edition faced several visual issues compared to its original version on the PlayStation 3.
