Kushal Tanwar, who is popularly known as Gullu from Bigg Boss 20, recently opened up about a challenging period in his life during a heartfelt chat with fellow contestant Qazi Touqeer. He shared that he went through a divorce in 2024, only a few months after his wedding.
The revelation came as the two were discussing Gullu’s experiences on reality television. Qazi was surprised to learn about Gullu’s marriage and inquired if it occurred before or after his appearance on the show. Gullu responded, “I got divorced in 2024. It was a very depressing time. I was married for about four to five months. Many thought it was the wrong choice, and I tried to make it work, but ultimately realized it just wasn’t meant to be. In my family, marriage often happens early, and I felt pressured to marry.”
Gullu explained that his marriage was largely influenced by family expectations. He initially made efforts to salvage the relationship, but in the end, he recognized that it was not working out. Despite the hardship, he tried to remain optimistic and concentrate on his career. “I thought to myself, nothing could be worse than this, so I chose to focus on my work and look forward,” he said.
Interestingly, Gullu’s divorce proceedings took place while he was participating in the reality show Roadies. He mentioned that the situation became more complicated when wedding images leaked online, adding to his stress and concerns.
Reflecting on this tough time, Gullu said, “I was in Goa with the Roadies team when someone shared those images. I felt like it was all over for me, and I didn’t know what to do.” Qazi asked him about the duration of the legal process and whether his family was supportive. Gullu revealed that at first, his family was against his decision to seek a divorce. “There were fights about my decision, and during that time, my family cut ties with me completely. It took about a year to resolve these issues, and it was a difficult journey, but I’m finally free from it all.”
Gullu’s story has reignited discussions surrounding the controversy over the leaking of his wedding photos. When the pictures first appeared online, he had previously denied their authenticity, claiming they were fake.
