Kushal Tanwar, aka Gullu, Opens Up About Divorce on Bigg Boss 20
In a heartfelt moment on Bigg Boss 20, contestant Kushal Tanwar, known as Gullu, shared a personal struggle from his past. During a candid chat with fellow contestant Qazi Touqeer, he revealed that he went through a divorce in 2024, just a few months after tying the knot.
The discussion arose while the two were reflecting on Gullu’s experiences in reality shows. Qazi expressed surprise upon learning about Gullu’s marriage, prompting him to ask whether it happened before or after his participation in reality TV.
Gullu responded, saying, “I got divorced in 2024. It was a very tough time for me. I was married for only 4-5 months. People thought the marriage was a mistake, and I tried hard to make it work. Ultimately, I realized it wasn’t meant to be. In my culture, there’s a lot of pressure to marry early, and I felt I had to meet my family’s expectations.”
Marriage Under Family Pressure
Gullu shared that the marriage took place due to family expectations. Initially, he made efforts to salvage the relationship but soon realized it wasn’t feasible. Despite this challenging chapter, he focused on moving forward with his life and career. “I thought to myself, nothing can get worse than this. I decided to put my energy into my work and look ahead,” he stated.
Interestingly, Gullu managed to handle the divorce proceedings while filming for “Roadies.” He mentioned that complications arose when photos from his wedding were leaked online, making an already difficult situation even tougher.
Feeling Overwhelmed
During the conversation, Gullu recounted feeling overwhelmed when the wedding pictures surfaced. “I was in Goa with the Roadies team when those photos got leaked. I felt like it was the end of the world for me,” he admitted.
When Qazi inquired about his family’s reaction during the divorce, Gullu shared that they did not initially support his decision. He mentioned a significant conflict with his family, which led to a period of estrangement. “My family was against my decision to get a divorce. It took a whole year to resolve everything. It was really hard, but I am finally free from that situation,” he expressed.
Gullu’s comments also reignite discussions regarding the controversy surrounding the leaked wedding photos. Previously, he had dismissed those images as fake and has now shed more light on his side of the story.
