Isopure Addresses Bipasha Basu’s Worm Claims in Protein Powder: “Our Quality Team is Investigating”

Protein brand Isopure has responded to claims made by actress Bipasha Basu, who alleged that she discovered worms in a newly opened container of their protein powder. In a video posted on social media, Bipasha indicated that the product was contaminated, prompting a swift reaction from the company.

In their statement, Isopure emphasized their commitment to high product quality and consumer safety. “We reached out to the concerned celebrity to address her immediate concerns and appreciate her acknowledgment of our response. Our Quality team is currently looking into the package to assess its authenticity and quality,” they stated.

In the video shared by Bipasha, she displayed a small worm on her finger and mentioned that there were many more inside the container. “This Isopure is infested with tiny worms. We just opened the new package,” she claimed while showing the contents, which she argued had been compromised.

Bipasha also appealed for intervention from local regulatory authorities, tagging Tukaram Mundhe, the Commissioner of Maharashtra’s Food and Drug Administration, in her Instagram Story. She wrote, “@tukaram ias You are our only hope… We shouldn’t have to deal with spoiled or adulterated products.”

This incident comes during a time when there is increasing scrutiny regarding food safety and hygiene standards in Maharashtra. However, it’s important to note that the specific claims regarding the protein powder have not yet been independently verified.

The news follows Bipasha’s recent appearance on a digital cover of Elle, where she opened up about her career, motherhood, and making bold choices despite facing opposition. Her current social media post, however, has shifted the narrative to a pressing consumer safety issue that has sparked significant online discussion.

As Isopure conducts its investigation, many are watching closely to see the results and whether any further regulatory measures will be undertaken.
