WENATCHEE, Wash. — Authorities in Washington State have called off an AMBER Alert that was issued for a 1-year-old child with special medical needs who was thought to have been taken by his mother.
The Washington State Patrol reported that the alert was set in motion by the Wenatchee Police Department around 1:30 p.m. Police became concerned when the child missed an important medical appointment, and it appeared that the mother was unresponsive and not cooperating, raising alarms about the child’s health.
Initial investigations indicated that the mother may have traveled to the Portland area.
However, just after 2 p.m., the AMBER Alert was lifted after officials confirmed that the child had been found safe. Details regarding the mother’s potential legal issues have not yet been disclosed.
To ensure privacy, the identities of both the child and the mother have been kept confidential as the investigation continues.
