Kartik Aaryan is taking a bold step beyond acting by launching his own production company, Dopamine Studios. This new venture is part of his collaboration with renowned filmmaker Kabir Khan.
The project, which remains unnamed for now, marks a continued partnership for Kartik and Kabir. They previously worked together on the 2024 movie Chandu Champion, which tells the inspiring story of Murlikant Petkar, India’s first Paralympic gold medal winner. Kartik’s performance in this film earned him the Best Actor award at the 72nd National Film Awards.
In this upcoming film, Kartik will portray a kickboxing coach who mentors a young girl from Kashmir. The story is believed to be inspired by Tajamul Islam, a young athlete who gained international fame as a kickboxing champion.
A close source mentioned that Kartik felt a strong connection to the story right from the start. He was inspired by the genuine courage and determination in the real-life journey, believing it was vital for a broader audience to hear about it. This motivation led him to become more involved in the project as a producer.
To prepare for his role, Kartik has been training in kickboxing. The filming is currently taking place in various locations, including Mumbai and Kashmir.
With the launch of Dopamine Studios, Kartik is opening a new chapter in his career, allowing him to explore his creative interests beyond just acting. This second collaboration with Kabir Khan showcases their mutual fascination with stories that highlight resilience and ambition, while also giving Kartik a chance to contribute significantly from behind the scenes.
Further updates regarding the film’s title, cast, and release dates are expected to be shared soon.
