Excitement is building around the upcoming game, God of War: Laufey. A hot topic among fans is the fact that the well-known character Kratos won’t be the main focus in this spin-off. However, it’s now officially confirmed that Kratos will make a comeback in a future game that will launch after Laufey.
According to reports from IGN, Cory Barlog, the head of creative at Santa Monica Studio, confirmed during a recent Comic Con panel that a new God of War game featuring Kratos is in development. Barlog previously directed the 2018 God of War and served as the creative director for its sequel, Ragnarok.
While specific details about the upcoming game are still under wraps, Barlog did mention that this new entry will have a direct connection to Laufey.
For those unfamiliar, God of War: Laufey takes place around the same time as the events of the 2018 game, starting from a similar point. We are yet to discover how the story will unfold and what challenges Faye will face.
Interestingly, Kratos will appear in some capacity in Laufey, so players should gain more insight into the plot once the game is released in February next year.
What are your thoughts on God of War: Laufey? Are you excited to step into Faye’s shoes? How do you think it will connect to Kratos’ journey after Ragnarok and Valhalla? We’d love to hear your opinions!
