UAE Military Delegation Visits India for Training Insight

A military team from the United Arab Emirates recently toured Indian Army facilities to observe its training and firepower capabilities. The group, led by Brigadier General Mohamed Khamees Al Hassani, who serves as the Deputy Commander of the UAE Land Force, paid their respects at the National War Memorial on Thursday.

The five-member delegation started their visit at the Army War College in Mhow, Madhya Pradesh, where they learned about the training methodologies in place. They also visited the Infantry School in the same area. During their time there, the delegation was introduced to advanced AI and Quantum lab facilities, along with modern weapon systems and tactical training techniques.

The Army War College shared on social media that discussions with the UAE team included contemporary military conflicts and the importance of collaboration in military education between the two nations.

Previously, on Wednesday, the delegation observed an Army division focused on operations to the west. They witnessed mechanized maneuvers and integrated operations, including demonstrations of drone and counter-drone capabilities. During these interactions, both countries discussed current security challenges and new defense technologies, emphasizing their commitment to bolstering military relations.

Sources indicate that since 2023, India and the UAE have significantly enhanced their defense ties. These have evolved from occasional exercises and equipment collaborations to a formal Strategic Defence Partnership. This partnership now encompasses areas such as maritime security, defense industry cooperation, cyber defense, counter-terrorism, training, and intelligence sharing.

In January 2026, both nations signed a Letter of Intent to further this Strategic Defence Partnership, committing to work on a framework agreement aimed at deepening and expanding defense collaboration.
