Manoj Bajpayee’s Film Governor Receives UA 13+ Certification Ahead of Release

The highly anticipated film, Governor, starring Manoj Bajpayee, has officially been awarded a UA 13+ certificate by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). This marks an important step as the film prepares for its theatrical release.

While the film has received its certification, the board advises that parental guidance is recommended for viewers. All necessary edits and changes to the film have been successfully completed, though details about the specific modifications remain unknown. With its release date set for June 12, 2026, this news is sure to excite fans looking forward to Bajpayee’s latest performance.

Set against a significant backdrop in India’s economic history, Governor is inspired by true events that occurred during a crucial time when the country faced a looming financial crisis. The narrative follows Bajpayee as a resolute Governor tasked with leading the nation through a period filled with uncertainty and challenges. The film is anticipated to showcase the tough decisions and strategic actions taken during this pivotal moment.

The project is produced by Sunshine Pictures and directed by Chinmay Mandlekar, with Vipul Amrutlal Shah as the producer and Aashin A. Shah as the co-producer. The screenplay was crafted by a talented team including Suvendu Bhattacharyjee, Saurabh Bharat, Ravi Asrani, and Shah himself.

In addition to Bajpayee, the film features performances by Adah Sharma and Madhoo in prominent roles. Notably, the music is composed by Amit Trivedi and the lyrics are penned by renowned poet and lyricist Javed Akhtar.

As the release date draws near, Governor is gearing up to portray a dramatic retelling of a critical economic chapter in India’s history. Whether the film underwent any adjustments during the certification process remains to be seen, but it’s clear that there is great anticipation for its debut this June.
