The Hero Women’s Indian Open is set to take place from October 22-25, drawing much anticipation after months of waiting. This year, the event will return to the challenging DLF Golf & Country Club in Gurgaon, with a prize fund of $500,000, the same as last year.
This tournament is a highlight in a thrilling three-week schedule for Indian golf. It follows the $2 million International Series at Prestige Golfshire in Bangalore, and the $4 million DP World India Championship at Delhi Golf Club, which runs from October 15-18.
These back-to-back events are a significant focal point for Indian golf, giving both men’s and women’s tours a chance to shine in the same month.
Last year, Shannon Tan claimed the title at DLF with an impressive score of 7-under 281, while India’s own Hitaashee Bakshi finished an admirable third, securing her playing rights on the Ladies European Tour.
For the top female golfers in India, this tournament remains a key opportunity to compete on home ground and potentially advance to the prestigious Ladies European Tour.
