Carter and Muller Claim Elite Business Student Honors

Awards Ceremony Honors Top Students and Faculty at ATU

On Tuesday, April 21, Arkansas Tech University celebrated outstanding achievements in its LeMoyne Smith School of Business during a special awards reception held at Chambers Cafeteria West Dining Room.

Josiah Carter from Sanford, Florida, was recognized with the prestigious 2026 ATU LeMoyne Smith School of Business Ambassador Award. This award is given to graduating seniors who maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0, with at least a 3.25 in their major. Recipients also demonstrate exceptional representation of the ATU School of Business at various levels.

Ashley Muller of Cabot received the 2026 ATU LeMoyne Smith School of Business Leadership Award. This recognition honors students for their involvement in university organizations, community service, and academic performance.

The event also celebrated faculty achievements. Three outstanding faculty members received the 2026 LeMoyne Smith Faculty Excellence Awards. The recipients were Dr. Katelynn Hopson for teaching, Thomas Pennington for service, and Dr. Peng “Roc” Huang for research.

Additional awards presented during the ceremony included:

  • Gary K. Burris Outstanding Accounting Scholar: Josiah Carter, Sanford, Fla.
  • Robert A. Young Outstanding Management Award: Kyle Drown, Russellville
  • Robert A. Young Outstanding Marketing Award (Tie): Lizbeth Flores, Dardanelle; Alexander Hickman, Omaha
  • Joseph L. Moore Outstanding Economics and Finance Award: Ethan Ellis, Danville
  • Kim Troboy Outstanding Business Data Analytics Student: Allie Stoll, Benton
  • Outstanding Master of Business Administration Student Awards: Calli Beshore, Nevada, Mo.; Carly Dunlap, Russellville; Ruth Musgrove, Dover
  • Outstanding Health Information Management Student: Kayla Workman, Rudy

This event not only highlighted the hard work and dedication of students and faculty at ATU but also showcased the commitment to excellence within the business program.
