Singer Sonu Nigam has recently sold some agricultural land in Maharashtra’s Raigad district for a total of ₹1.95 crore. The sales, which took place on April 7, 2026, involved four different transactions, according to property registration records.
The land, spread over 1.9 hectares of paddy fields in Mauje Savele, attracted a combination of investors and local buyers. This trend highlights the ongoing interest in agricultural land in areas near Mumbai, especially as more people show interest in agri-tourism and land for green energy projects.
The biggest sale was for 0.718 hectares, sold for ₹75 lakhs to Anil Prabhaker Kadu, Nitin Prabhaker Kadu, and Anthony Thomas George Vaz. This transaction also included a stamp duty of ₹4.5 lakhs.
In another deal, Nitin Prabhaker Kadu bought a 0.607-hectare section for ₹50 lakhs, with a stamp duty of ₹3 lakhs. Anil Prabhaker Kadu and Anthony Thomas George Vaz also jointly purchased a 0.405-hectare piece for ₹50 lakhs.
The smallest parcel of 0.208 hectares was sold for ₹20 lakhs to Gaurav Gautam and Nidhi Upadhyay, who paid a stamp duty of ₹1.2 lakhs.
All these transactions were registered on the same day, indicating a strategic sale of multiple plots in this region. The Karjat area has been getting more attention, thanks to better connectivity and its closeness to Mumbai, making it an attractive choice for agricultural and second-home investments.
Earlier this year, in February 2026, Sonu Nigam’s father, Agam Kumar Nigam, purchased a plot of land along with a residential and commercial building at Madh Island for ₹10 crores. This property, called Mango Villa, spans 1,197 sq m and includes multiple floors. The deal was also registered with a stamp duty of ₹50 lakhs.
