Excitement Builds for ‘Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai’ as Censorship Issues Are Resolved
The Indian Premier League (IPL) has come to a close, paving the way for a wave of new film releases. This Friday, the highly anticipated Bollywood film Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai hits theaters. Directed by renowned filmmaker David Dhawan, the movie has attracted attention with its lively trailers and catchy songs.
Last week, the film’s makers wrapped up the censoring process, and we’ve got the inside scoop on the adjustments they had to make. The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) approved the movie with a U/A 16+ rating, but there were several modifications requested.
The CBFC Examining Committee identified areas where specific words needed to be swapped out for alternatives. Additionally, a scene featuring an inappropriate hand gesture was altered. Brand names related to condoms were blurred, and mentions of flavor names were muted. Notably, visuals including the names of cricketers Jos Butler and Ben Stokes were reduced to six seconds. Moreover, for scenes with dancing women, the focus was shifted to the upper body to ensure modesty.
Once these changes were implemented, the CBFC issued the censor certificate on May 27. The film runs for 136.40 minutes, making it a little over two hours long.
Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai features notable actors such as Varun Dhawan, Mrunal Thakur, Pooja Hegde, Maniesh Paul, Chunky Pandey, Jimmy Shergill, Mouni Roy, Rakesh Bedi, Ali Asgar, and Rajesh Kumar. Produced by Ramesh Taurani of Tips Films, this release is sure to entertain audiences.
With changes made and excitement in the air, theaters are ready for what looks like a fun-filled movie experience.
