Two Arrested After Trying to Enter UK Nuclear Base

An Iranian man and a Romanian woman have been arrested for attempting to enter a nuclear missile base in Scotland, according to Police Scotland. The incident took place on Thursday at HM Naval Base Clyde, known as Faslane, where the country’s nuclear submarines are stationed.

Police reported that they received a call around 5 PM regarding two individuals trying to access the base. The 34-year-old man and the 31-year-old woman have been charged and are set to appear in court on Monday, March 23. Investigations are ongoing.

Reports indicate that the suspects were stopped at the base gate because they did not possess the required passes. They were subsequently detained for behaving suspiciously nearby.

The HM Naval Base Clyde serves as a critical location for the UK’s submarine fleet, housing both nuclear missile submarines and attack submarines. The Royal Navy has stated that the base is vital for the nation’s defense.

As this situation unfolds, Police Scotland has chosen not to provide further comment due to the active investigation.
