Tiger Baby’s “In-Transit” Nominated for GLAAD Media Award

The impactful documentary series “In-Transit,” produced by Tiger Baby and available on Amazon Prime Video, has received a prestigious nomination for Outstanding Documentary at the 37th Annual GLAAD Media Awards. This nomination highlights the series’ dedication to fair and inclusive portrayals of LGBTQ+ lives and issues on global media platforms.

Directed by Ayesha Sood, “In-Transit” follows the heartfelt journeys of nine trans and non-binary individuals from various regions of India. The series features diverse settings, from bustling cities like Mumbai and Delhi to smaller towns, and delves into crucial themes of identity, love, and self-expression that go beyond traditional gender roles.

Each story showcased in the series presents personal experiences that challenge societal norms, offering a candid glimpse into the realities of these individuals within the Indian cultural context. Notably, “In-Transit” stands out as the only Indian documentary nominated in its category, emphasizing a rising global appreciation for authentic Indian storytelling.

Reacting to the nomination, producer Zoya Akhtar expressed her gratitude, saying, “We are very honored that In-Transit has been recognized by GLAAD. Congratulations to Ayesha Sood, our director, and thanks to Amazon Prime for giving us this wonderful platform. This confirms our belief that genuine Indian stories resonate deeply with audiences worldwide.”

Producer Reema Kagti shared her thoughts as well, stating, “In-Transit holds a special place in our hearts. We appreciate GLAAD for highlighting stories that often go unnoticed and for supporting narratives that celebrate identity and truth.”

Director Ayesha Sood also expressed her excitement, saying, “At a time when it’s crucial to highlight trans realities, we feel privileged to tell the stories of these nine amazing characters. Their experiences, while unique, also reflect universal themes. I’m very thankful for GLAAD’s recognition.”

Streaming exclusively on Amazon Prime Video, “In-Transit” continues to represent Tiger Baby’s commitment to socially relevant storytelling, connecting with audiences through honest and empathetic narratives.
