Asian Games 2026 Live, September 26: Barwal Makes History with Marathon Silver, Lakshya Set to Shine

On Day 8 of the Asian Games, India is set for another exciting day filled with many chances to win medals across different sports.

The day kicks off bright and early at 4:00 AM IST with Sawan Barwal and Kartik Karkera competing in the men’s marathon final. Shortly after, at 6:15 AM, the women’s team in the 50m rifle 3 positions event will take the stage, with hopes high for additional medals in shooting.

Canoeing also presents a golden chance, with Raju Rawat and L Neha Devi ready to compete in the mixed canoe double 500m Final A.

Later in the morning, kabaddi fans will have their eyes glued to the screen as both Indian teams go for gold against Iran. The women’s final is set for 9:30 AM, followed by the men’s match at 2:30 PM.

Squash enthusiasts can look forward to thrilling matches as well. Joshna Chinappa and Velavan Senthilkumar are in the mixed doubles semifinals, and Anahat Singh and Abhay Singh will compete in their singles semifinals.

In the evening, athletics will take center stage with several medal events. Tajinderpal Singh Toor and Karanveer Singh will battle it out in the men’s shot put final. This will be followed by Praveen Chithravel and Karthik Unnikrishnan in the men’s triple jump final, and finally, Parul Chaudhary and Pooja will race in the women’s 1500m final.

Besides these events, India’s athletes will also compete in badminton, boxing, fencing, archery, hockey, table tennis, surfing, sailing, and esports, making Day 8 a bustling and action-packed day for the Indian team.
