Putin Watches Robot Dance at Moscow AI Conference
Russian President Vladimir Putin was recently seen watching a humanoid robot perform at an AI exhibition in Moscow. The robot, named Green, showcased its dance moves while Putin, appearing somewhat serious, commented, “Very beautiful, thanks,” before moving on.
This moment quickly became one of the highlights of the event, making it to state television broadcasts.
The demonstration by Sberbank happened during the AI Journey conference, where Putin was surrounded by his bodyguards. As Green introduced itself in Russian, it said, “I am the first Russian humanoid robot with embedded artificial intelligence. This means I’m more than just a program on a screen; I’m a physical embodiment of technology.”
The video also captured how Green explained its features, such as having over 40 motors and various sensors that help it move gracefully and interact safely with people.
To showcase its capabilities, Green requested a virtual assistant to play a song before it started dancing to a cheerful folk-pop tune, “The Sun Rose High.” During this performance, a cautious bodyguard stepped in to ensure everything went smoothly.
This display came just days after another humanoid robot, named AIdol, made headlines for falling over shortly after its debut on stage. The contrast in performances highlighted the challenges and advancements in robot technology.
