C P Radhakrishnan Set to Take Oath as Vice President
C P Radhakrishnan, the newly elected Vice-President, will be sworn in by President Droupadi Murmu this Friday at 10 am at Rashtrapati Bhavan, according to official sources.
Radhakrishnan, who previously served as the Governor of Maharashtra, secured his position in the vice presidential election held on Tuesday, winning against the opposition candidate B Sudershan Reddy by a notable margin of 152 votes.
His elevation to Vice President comes after the unexpected resignation of Jagdeep Dhankhar on July 21. Following his election, Radhakrishnan stepped down from his role as the Governor of Maharashtra on Thursday.
In light of this transition, President Murmu has appointed Gujarat Governor Acharya Devvrat to oversee the duties of the Maharashtra Governor while retaining his current responsibilities.
