Isha Talwar Shares Unusual Audition Story

Actress Isha Talwar recently opened up about a challenging audition experience that left a mark on her early career. During a chat, she recalled being asked by casting director Shanoo Sharma to perform an emotional crying scene in the middle of a busy restaurant in Mumbai. The restaurant, Mia Cucina in Versova, was filled with diners, making the situation even more uncomfortable for the young actress. Talwar described the moment as “confusing” and said it shattered her confidence, leading her to decline the audition and ultimately lose the role.

Bijou Thaangjam’s Similar Experience

Bijou Thaangjam, known for his role in the film Mary Kom, related to Talwar’s story. He shared that his first audition with Shanoo Sharma took place at a cafe called Bru World on Yari Road. Feeling uncertain and not fluent in Hindi, he was nonetheless eager to give his best. However, he also faced the challenge of auditioning in a public space, which made him uncomfortable. He stood his ground and chose not to participate at that moment. A few days later, her assistant contacted him for a studio audition, but by then, he had already landed a role in Mary Kom.

Other Voices Join In

Talwar’s story resonated with many in the industry, and other actors chimed in. Nidhi Subbaiah shared her own troubles, claiming she felt “shunned” and ridiculed by Sharma’s assistants during her first audition.

Such stories highlight the pressures and challenges many newcomers face in the film industry, often pushing them to overcome uncomfortable situations for their dreams.
