Producer Allu Aravind recently sparked rumors of a sequel to the popular film Ghajini during the Hindi trailer launch of Thandel in Mumbai. The event, which featured Aamir Khan, saw Aravind express his hopes of teaming up with the superstar for a big-budget film, saying he wanted to create a movie that could earn 1,000 crores. Aamir enthusiastically responded, "Definitely, sir!" Then, with a hint of excitement, Aravind suggested, "Maybe Ghajini 2!" This light-hearted exchange has fans buzzing with speculation about a potential sequel to the 2008 hit.

During their brief conversation, Aamir acknowledged the ongoing chatter surrounding Ghajini 2, mentioning, "Sir, a lot on the net is going around Ghajini 2." Aravind chuckled in response, commenting on how people have already started writing about it. Although there has been no official announcement regarding the sequel, the dialogue has reignited interest in the action thriller that made a significant impact in Bollywood.

The original Ghajini, directed by AR Murugadoss, was a remake of a Tamil film and featured Aamir Khan alongside Asin and Jiah Khan. The antagonist was portrayed by Pradeep Rawat. The film was a groundbreaking success, being the first in Bollywood to surpass the 100 crore mark with its impressive domestic earnings of 114 crores. Notably, Ghajini is unique in that it carries the name of its villain, setting it apart in the film industry. Although Aamir did not receive awards for his role, his performance as Sanjay Singhania remains one of his most iconic.

On a different note, Aamir Khan is also gearing up for the release of Thandel, which stars Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi and is set to hit theaters on February 7, 2025. The film will be dubbed in Hindi, and it faces competition from Loveyapa, which features Aamir’s son. When asked about the impending box office rivalry, Aamir diplomatically stated, "Everyone’s film should work at the box office." It will be interesting to see how Thandel performs against Loveyapa.
